Members of Grassy Narrows and Islington Bands (and affiliates) may be eligible to receive a claim for benefits related to the effects of mercury from the Wabigoon River.
The Mercury Disability Board can help with the process.
What to Expect
Parents/guardians and children/youth will attend medical assessments to discover the effects mercury has had on the claimants’ health and well-being.
During the appointment(s), caregivers and children/youth will meet with a Nurse Practitioner, to discuss their health history.
You may wish to share:
- Information about birth and daily life
- Medication lists
- Important past health documents (not required)
Child/Youth Nurse Practitioner Assessments take about and hour to complete.
